Bask in the sounds of sunny Spain as the DuPage Symphony takes you to the Iberian Peninsula through the music of Spanish, French, and Russian composers of the 19th century. Excerpts from Bizet’s opera Carmen and Massenet’s opera Le Cid, plus short works by Albeniz, Falla, Fauré, and Granados, complement the richly colorful Capriccio Espagnol of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

Bring a picnic, bring your friends, and enjoy a “virtual visit” to sunny Spain!

Concert is performed on the plaza outside the First Division Museum. Gates open at 6 pm. Blankets or chairs are recommended as seating is on the lawn.
Presenter: DuPage Symphony Orchestra
Bizet: Carmen Suites Nos. 1 and 2 (excerpts)
Massenet: Ballet Music from Le Cid
Fauré: Le Pas Espagnol from Dolly Suite
Falla: Danse Espagnole from La Vida Breve
Granados: Andaluza from Tres Danzas Espagnolas
Albéniz: Sevilla
Rimsky-Korsakov: Capriccio Espagnol, Op. 34
